Happily is looking for a Technical Director to join an events team that’s ramping up for a conference in Los Angeles in either the 1st or 2nd week of November - TBD.
The Technical Director is a pre-production and onsite role responsible for project and admin duties.
Project Duties:
- Intaking the client’s equipment needs for their program including camera, projection, audio, and video display equipment.
- Maximizing the venue’s capabilities as they pertain to the program requirements, including conducting a site visit.
- Composing, updating, and sharing the evolving CAD files required for the entire event.
- Composing an encompassing staging and gear and staffing list required, requesting RFP’s, and bid out the rental contract with local vendors.
- Overseeing the file intake of digital deliverables such as product videos, presentation assets, and static graphics for monitors to ensure accommodation for seamless - playback.
- Leading the stage and equipment load in, confirming rental agreements are met, that the equipment is operable/operating, and conduct rehearsals.
- Ensuring uneventful playback of show assets per the Run of Show without any technical difficulties while delivering a complete copy of the recorded event on a hard drive to the designated editor by the end of each day.
- Managing the technical crew in keeping call, lunch, and wrap times.
- Overseeing load out to ensure a timely wrap, a lack of incidents, and to prevent L&D.
Admin Duties:
- Maintaining the show-related slides of the Project Documentation including Gear Lists, Plots, and more
- Interviewing other Broadcast roles on the event and hiring them Happily’s Platform
- Completing Required Weekly Event Update forms for production progress reports
- Submitting a Required Post-Event Survey for the event and your peers
- Attending client meetings as called in
About the Project
Happily’s very fun tech and social forward client is looking to host a conference in Los Angeles for approximately 500 people on either 11/5-11/6 or 11/13-11/14 TBD. The program will be load in on day 1 followed by a VIP dinner. Next morning will be VIP breakfast, 3 hours of main stage programming shot in reality TV style with a set, followed by a casual lunch hour, followed by 2-3 hours of networking activities, and ending with a 2-hour reception for the attendees.
