About the Job

Vibe Coder / Design Partner (Contract)

Company: Happily
Product: Arrived
Compensation: Up to $150 per project (Milestone-based)

About Happily

We’re Happily. We’ve produced thousands of events around the world. Arrived is our software, and it’s where our clients’ event websites live.

Some clients build their own, but others want a Design Partner to create a polished, custom page. That’s where you come in.

Note for Existing Happily Specialists: Please add Vibe Coder to the Roles on your Happily profile before applying.

Project Overview

Build one custom, mobile-responsive Arrived event website using our starter kit, customer event content, brand assets, and design direction.

  • Compensation: Paid project worth up to $150, earned through defined checkpoints.
  • Scope: Internal V1, client-ready V1, up to two customer revision rounds, and final project closeout (approved version committed/pushed to the Happily-owned repository).
  • Payment Schedule:
    • $50 Checkpoint: Earned upon completion of an internal V1.
    • Remaining $100: Earned through remaining QA, revision, and handoff checkpoints.
    • Note: If Happily discontinues or reassigns remaining work, completed checkpoints remain payable; incomplete checkpoints are not earned.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and customize one event page using the Arrived starter kit.
  • Apply customer brand assets and approved design direction.
  • Ensure optimal display across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Self-QA every version using Happily’s Design Partner checklist before submitting.
  • Correct functional defects, missed brief requirements, and checklist failures identified during Happily’s internal QA.
  • Complete up to two consolidated customer revision rounds.
  • Work within the assigned Happily-owned repository, keeping all work committed and pushed throughout the assignment.

(Note: Customers supply their event content. Copywriting is not included in this assignment.)

Scope of Revisions & QA

The full $150 project scope includes:

  1. One initial custom event page.
  2. Reasonable corrections for functional defects, missed requirements, or checklist failures.
  3. Two consolidated customer revision rounds.

Quality & Reassignment Terms

  • Every submitted version must complete Self-QA, Happily functional & creative QA, consolidated corrections, and client delivery before a checkpoint is marked complete.
  • Quality Standard: If submitted work materially misses the approved brief, brand direction, functionality requirements, or checklist:
    • Happily will provide one consolidated written correction list with a firm deadline.
    • If reasonable, in-scope corrections are not completed by the deadline, Happily may reassign the work.
  • Reassignment Triggers: Missed deadlines without notice, unresponsiveness, loss of repository access, failure to complete customer feedback, or incomplete handoffs.
  • Scope Exclusions: Subjective customer preference alone does not forfeit earned payments. New creative direction, material redesigns, additional pages, new functionality, or a 3rd revision round require separate written scope and compensation approval.
  • Internal QA: Internal QA corrections do not count as customer revision rounds. Happily provides one consolidated internal QA response before V1 goes to the customer.

Timing & Communication

Timeline

  • First Draft: Ready for internal QA within 1 business day of receiving the confirmed assignment and project materials.
  • Internal QA Turnaround: Happily aims to complete initial internal QA within 2 business hours.
  • Corrections Window: Standard correction window is 4 business hours (or the first 4 hours of your next business day if outside confirmed working hours).
  • Deadlines: If you cannot meet a deadline, notify Happily immediately so coverage can be determined.

Channels

  • All Client Communication: Managed directly by Happily.
  • Formal Submissions & Revision Notes: Handled via the assignment email thread.
  • Quick Questions, Blockers & Progress: Handled via the #arrived-design-partner Slack channel.

To Apply

To apply, please confirm that you can:

  1. Meet the one-business-day first-version requirement.
  2. Accept an assignment worth up to $150, earned through the defined payment checkpoints (and confirmed in the job-specific deal memo/addendum).

Note:

This opportunity is for future paid Vibe Coder assignments. As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to complete a short unpaid application exercise to demonstrate their skills and approach.

Selected candidates may be considered for future paid assignments based on their application and exercise.
