About the Job

Job Description: Technical Producer

About the Event We are currently seeking a highly skilled Technical Producer for a highly anticipated live event hosted by a popular app at a premier museum venue in Los Angeles.

Role Overview We are hiring a Technical Producer to be the mastermind behind the supplemental technical elements of our event. While we have access to the venue’s existing tech and venue-provided tech operators, you will be responsible for determining, procuring, and overseeing the installation of our specialized equipment—primarily cameras, lighting, speakers, and DJ equipment. The event footprint includes three live stages (one of which will be filmed), a DJ booth, and an outdoor reception area requiring top-tier lighting and sound. We are looking for someone who can bridge the gap between flawless technical execution and highly creative event design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Production & Procurement: Determine technical gaps and procure all necessary supplemental equipment—specifically cameras, outdoor lighting, outdoor speakers, and DJ gear.
  • Venue Collaboration: Act as the main technical liaison, integrating our specialized equipment and production needs seamlessly with the venue-provided tech and operational staff.
  • Stage & Broadcast Technology: Manage tech requirements across all three stages, paying special attention to the unique needs of the primary filmed stage to ensure flawless capture and broadcast quality.
  • Creative Lighting & Sound Design: Bring a creative eye to lighting design and ensure impeccable sound engineering to deliver both a seamless main stage show and a high-energy, unforgettable party environment.
  • Venue Networking: Oversee and guarantee robust event internet and networking solutions across the museum footprint for both production use and live elements.
  • Installation & Operation: Lead load-in, setup, operation, and strike of all procured technical equipment, managing the workflow alongside the venue’s on-site tech crews and hired rentals.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Producer overseeing A/V, lighting, and networking for complex, multi-stage live events.
  • Strong creative vision, specifically with event lighting design and party atmospheres.
  • Deep understanding of broadcast/filming technical requirements.
  • Experience collaborating successfully with in-house venue technical and operations teams.
  • Ability to problem-solve complex technical issues on the fly in a non-traditional venue (museum setting).

Application Requirements

  • Please provide specific examples or a portfolio of previous outdoor activations and theater shows you have worked on.

Required Dates & Location

  • Location: Los Angeles, CA (Museum Venue)
  • Pre-Production & Procurement: IMMEDIATE start required
  • Alignment Meetings: 1-2 meetings minimum (Week prior to the event)
  • Load-In: November 10
  • Event Date: November 11
